Amanj Raheem has been serving as the Cabinet Secretary at the Kurdistan Regional Government since October 2014, he attained LLM in 2003 and PhD with honors in the Business Law in 2008, prior to becoming a Cabinet Secretary he was the Chief of Staff to the KRG Prime Minister in 2010 for two years.
Amanj served as a Senior Legal Advisor to the KRG cabinet for six years. He has advised on commercial and financial laws including the constitutional energy and budget issues with the federal government in Baghdad. He also led the development and drafting of several financial and administrative laws and regulations in Kurdistan region.
Amanj is a member of the National Committee for the Iraqi Accession to the World Trade Organization WTO. He also works on various public financial reform projects, he is heading a coordination committee for promoting transparency in the Kurdistan Region oil and gas revenues and expenditures through an international independent auditing. He gained several certificates in oil and gas contracts, international arbitration, upstream fiscal petroleum regimes, international trade law, quality assurance and transparency during his career.
