Vice President, Europe, Eurasia & Middle East Exploration & Production
Ian R. MacDonald is the vice president of Chevron Europe, Eurasia and Middle East Exploration and Production Company, based in London, UK, a position he assumed in 2008. He is responsible for business development, new ventures and transportation strategy for Europe, Eurasia and Middle East. In addition to progressing new opportunities in the region, MacDonald directly manages new business and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq exploration portfolios.
MacDonald has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility, including president of Chevron Neftegaz Inc. in Moscow, the general director of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) in Russia and Kazakhstan, and logistics manager at Tengizchevroil in Kazakhstan. MacDonald has also held management roles in Europe, the United States and Nigeria.
MacDonald serves on the governing bodies of CPC and Tengizchevroil.
A native of Scotland, MacDonald joined Chevron in Aberdeen, Scotland, in 1981. He graduated with a BA (hons) degree in Political Theory and Institutions from the University of Liverpool in 1976.
