James (Jim) Parks advising the KRG leadership on policy formulation, crisis management and economic reform since January 2015. Prior to that, Jim spent more than 25 years working with governments around the world on economic policy reform at the World Bank, including postings as Lead Economist for Turkey and for Argentina, and at the Millennium Challenge Corporation where he was Deputy Vice President for Policy and Evaluation. Jim has extensive experience with reform and restructuring of the electricity sector including in Turkey, transition economies such as Moldova, and developing countries in Africa. He was an early contributor to the Obama Administration’s Power Africa initiative. Jim’s specialty is to bring together world-class analysis and real-world experience to help policymakers solve complex problems. Jim started out his career in development as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Himalayan foothills of Nepal. He has studied at MIT, Princeton and the University of Geneva.
